Small Dining Rooms That Make the Most Out of Limited Space
"Trimming details have been added to the sides and base
of the window to give more substance to the walls and create a bit of
formality," says Fujikawa.
What changed:
Color theme: this room is not accessible and sets the color
tone for the whole house, including warm neutral colors, blue, blushes and
green accents.
Wallpaper: the natural-themed mural painting brings the
outside in, with butterflies, birds and flowers.
Ceiling lamp: the star details on the copper hangers add a
whimsical touch to the only light source in the room.
Dining table: the room was long, so a rectangular farm table
with room for eight replaced a superior round six, which can accommodate more
guests.
Dining chairs: Gray Chippendale chairs play beautifully with
two formal upholstered chairs.
Window treatment: natural woven tones work with the light
tones of the room.
Wall prints: blue butterflies absorb colors on the
wallpaper, while copper frames depend on the ceiling fixture.
Floor: An 8 x 10 inch ivory rug, naturally woven, with edges
and tassels, adds a layer of warmth to the newly stained chestnut floors.
Space is a mental state, but if you lose physical square
meters, you just need some tricks to save space to do it right. If you sit on
the sofa night after night with a television dinner, let us inspire you to
transform even the least amount of unused space into a formal dining room.
Later, 20 small dining rooms show that even a studio apartment deserves a space
designated for candlelight dinners and coffee breaks early in the morning.
